School Direct – Generic Information
Our School Alliance is located close to the heart of the City of Bradford. We pride ourselves on being ‘Good’ and ‘Outstanding’ Schools, as judged by Ofsted. Successful applicants would be provided with a rich and well managed experience across the schools. The Alliance of Schools boasts strengths within many areas of the curriculum, as well as catering for the needs of those aspiring to leadership and management positions. Our intake of children is essentially multicultural and we pride ourselves on providing Good and Outstanding teaching and learning experiences for our children.

School Direct Salaried (SDS)
The salaried programme runs from the 1st of September 2015 – 31st August 2016. The core structure is 4 days spent within the host school / alternative setting and one day release time per week spent at Bradford College. Trainees are based with a ‘host school’ where trainees spend the majority of their time in school. There is also an ‘alternative placement’, this takes place in an age phase that is different to the ‘host placement’ and will also be in a different school. All placements (both ‘host’ and ‘alternative’ will be within The Exceed Alliance of Schools) Trainees are paid on Level 1 of the Unqualified Teacher’s Scale. For 2015-2016 this will be £15,817 (gross). Successful completion of the programme will lead to the award of Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

School Direct Non – Salaried (SD)
The non – salaried programme runs from September 2015- July 2016. The programme entails lectures, seminars, tutorials and assessed assignments at Bradford College, coupled with two school based placements. Successful completion of the programme will lead to the award of Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE). In addition to the taught sessions at College and the placements within schools, we also offer an ‘enrichment’ experience to trainees. In addition to the sessions at College, The Exceed Alliance Headteachers deliver lectures/workshops/seminars/ activity sessions to trainees. These are linked to trainee developmental needs and the Headteacher’s deliver sessions linked to their area of expertise.
